Come, audition for Oscar Wilde’s famous 'The Importance of Being Earnest'!
Venue:- St Albans Anglican Church Hall - 68 Railway Street, Gatton
Actors of the Lockyer Valley and surrounding areas are encouraged to attend. No previous acting experience necessary. Major and minor speaking roles available for actors, however there will be no chorus (non-speaking) parts.
Please note: this production is for adult actors only, therefore we ask that all those considering auditioning be 16+ years old. We are also seeking volunteers for backstage, costuming, and front of house.
No preparations for the audition is necessary. You will be invited to “cold read” for your preferred part on the day.
Auditions for all roles will start at 11:00pm on Saturday 2nd July, and Sunday 3rd July will be reserved for call-backs. If you are required at the call-backs, you will be notified by the night of Saturday 2nd July.
Pre-registrations are not required, we accept walk-ins!
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and shoes and bringing water and a snack.
Casting will be decided by the director and panel. Cast members will be contacted by phone after the audition’s conclusion.
New and renewing members will be provided with membership forms and information at the audition. A membership fee is required to help cover insurance costs.
Rehearsals are every Saturday commencing July 9th 1pm-4pm. Performance days will be October 21st, October 22nd matinee and evening show, October 22nd, October 28th, October 29th matinee and evening show. Additional rehearsals will be held in the week leading up to opening night (tech week).
Please ensure you can commit to the performance dates and rehearsal schedule. You will be able to notify the team if there are any dates that are known availability issues for you.
Rehearsals and all performances will be held at the Laidley Cultural Centre.
