Type of event: Audition Start time: 12:00pm Description: Lockyer Regional Performing Arts is proud to announce its first production for 2021, Anne of Green Gables. Adapted by Joseph Robinette from the novel by L M Montgomery. In association with The Dramatic Publishing Company of Woodstock, Illinois, USA.
Children and adults of the Lockyer Valley are encouraged to attend. No previous acting experience necessary.
Major and minor speaking roles available for actors of all ages, as well as chorus (non-speaking) parts.We are also seeking volunteers for backstage, costuming, and front of house. No preparation for the audition is necessary. You will be invited to 'cold read' for your preferred part on the day. Download the Character Descriptions.
Auditions for the role of Anne will take place on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 February. Auditions for all other parts will take place on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 February. Attend either Saturday or Sunday, you are not required to attend both sessions.
Venue:- Anglican Church Hall, 68 Railway St, Gatton QLD 4343. Parking on Railway Street or in the Coles carpark. There is a gate in the Coles carpark which leads you to the hall at the back of the church.
No pre-registration is required; please come on the day. Casting will be decided by the director and panel and cast members will be contacted by phone after the auditions conclude. We recommend you wear comfortable clothing, bring a water bottle and some afternoon tea.
New and renewing members will be provided with membership forms and information at the audition. A membership fee is required to help cover insurance costs.
Rehearsals are every Sunday commencing February 21 1pm-4pm. Performance dates are: Fri June 11, Sat June 12, Sunday June 13 (matinee), Sat June 19, Sun June 20 (matinee). Additional rehearsals will be held in the week leading up to opening night. Please ensure you can commit to the performance dates and rehearsal schedule.
